Are you ready?

The Australian Taxation Office’s (ATO) new Single Touch Payroll (STP) will streamline reporting requirements for employers from 1 July 2018. This means that payments such as salaries and wages, Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding and super information will be reported directly from your payroll solution at the same time you pay your employees.

When does STP take effect?

For employers with 20 or more employees, STP reporting starts from 1 July 2018. For those with 19 or less employees, STP reporting will start from 1 July 2019 (subject to legislation being passed in Parliament).

How will this impact my payroll?

After you have made payments to your employees your payroll solution will need to send some additional reporting information to the ATO. You should check with your current payroll provider now to ensure that they support STP reporting.
